This tutorial assumes you have an Anythink account and an active project. If you haven't created a project yet, log in at app.anythink.cloud and click New Project.
A simple product catalogue with:
categories entity (name, description)products entity (name, price, description, category, image)categoriesYour categories entity now exists with a default id field. The API is already live.
Click on categories to open the field editor. Add:
| Field name | Type | Options |
|---|---|---|
name |
varchar | Required |
description |
text | — |
Click Save after each field.
Back on the Data Model screen, add a second entity: products.
Add these fields:
| Field name | Type | Options |
|---|---|---|
name |
varchar | Required |
description |
text | — |
price |
float | Required |
in_stock |
bool | Default: true |
category |
Foreign key → categories | — |
image |
file | — |
Save after each field.
In your project dashboard, click API Documentation. This opens the live, auto-generated docs for your project.
You will see endpoints for both categories and products. Everything was created automatically — no code needed.
In the API docs, find POST /entities/categories/items. Click Try it, enter this body, and run it:
{
"name": "Electronics",
"description": "Gadgets and devices"
}
You should get back a 201 Created response with the new record including its id. Copy the ID — you'll need it in the next step.
Find POST /entities/products/items. Create a product linked to your category:
{
"name": "Wireless Headphones",
"description": "Over-ear, noise cancelling",
"price": 79.99,
"in_stock": true,
"category": 1
}
Replace 1 with the actual ID you got from the category step.
Hit GET /entities/products/items. You should see your product returned in the items array.
Try adding a filter: ?filter[in_stock]=true
Your API URL is:
https://api.my.anythink.cloud/org/{orgId}/entities/products/items
Replace {orgId} with your project's org ID (shown in your dashboard). Here's a minimal fetch call to list products:
const orgId = 'YOUR_ORG_ID';
const token = 'YOUR_JWT_OR_API_KEY';
const res = await fetch(
`https://api.my.anythink.cloud/org/${orgId}/entities/products/items`,
{
headers: { 'Authorization': `Bearer ${token}` }
}
);
const data = await res.json();
console.log(data.items); // Array of products
You have a working product catalogue backend. From here you can:
